The Hamilton Beach custom coffee grinder will probably not attract the coffee connoisseur. However, even for the casual coffee drinker this design is sub-optimal. There are two selectors on the grinder, for cups of coffee and fineness of grind, that are wholly unnecessary. It makes the user feel as though they have some sort of custom control over the grind they receive, yet they only control the time the blade spins. Since this fails to account for bean roast you really can't just push the button and walk away. Dark roasts will be over-ground and will even heat up from the friction.The grinder I purchased from Target failed within weeks following the expiration of the warranty. Their customer support line was easy to access and I was talking to a live person in under 3 minutes. Unfortunately the tech support advice was simply, "you will have to purchase a new unit." I can definitely tell you from whom I will not be purchasing my next grinder.

Got this for my husband. He uses a French Press coffee maker and his old grinder wasn't working well. This grinder does just what he needs. It is inexpensive but works great. Would recommend.
