Ok, so this was a Christmas gift to me (I had been notoriously searching for a new burr grinder). The auto grind functionality (based on how much coffee your want to be ground) is pretty neat. Clean up isn't too bad, either. I haven't noticed any issues with filling up the hopper and the coffee getting stale, either (it has a pretty good seal around the top).However, it is far from perfect.The coarsest setting possible will get you coffee that is roughly the same size as grits (i.e. barely big enough for a french press - which is what I use). It is just about perfect for a drip coffee pot.It is also very, very loud (but most coffee grinders are).It would be a good value at ~$40, but not a cent more.

This is a wonderful Burr Coffee Grinder with a 5 year warranty! I read the instructions, it was so easy to setup and use. Unlike reviews of other burr grinders, this one did not clog. The only mess I made on the counter was when I took off the lid of the output bin, not realizing that the grinds stuck to it. Cleanup was easy, although I did not use the included brush due to its small size. The top burr assembly comes apart and I was able to wash it in soap and water. The output bin cleaned up easily too. I emptied out the unused beans from the input bin, brushed the bottom burr, and wiped everything with a moist sponge. I did leave the input bin lid up so it could air dry overnight. In the morning, I reassembled everything, tucked in the cord, and pushed it out of the way. This unit is very quiet and fast. I like the auto-shutoff feature. I was able to grind the beans properly for my Le Creuset French Press, reviewed elsewhere, and make an amazing cup of joe! I'm very pleased. Now I need to try making espresso grind and provide an update.

You don't need to look any further for a burr coffee grinder. Don't waste time with a blender type. For one person, I set the amount measure at 2 cups (minimum setting), grind at 7.5, use a funnel with a #4 paper cone filter to get at least 2 cups of fairly strong coffee. Freshly ground beans can give you the best flavor and you don't have to grind more than you need. I've used this machine daily for over 3 months and I'm very happy with it. After some experience, it is easy to operate with no mess. The regular price at Sears is $36.
